(by Andegna.com) South Korean President, Park Geun-hye is expected to arrive Addis Ababa ‘tonight’ in an official visit.
Park, daughter of the most influential South Korean president to date, Park Chung-hee, is scheduled to visit Ethiopia as part of her East African tour of three-countries including Kenya and Uganda.
Park will be holding bilateral talk with Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn in Ethiopia and President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda and Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya, according to Cheong Wa Dae, head of the Korean presidential office in statement.
During her visit scheduled from May 25 to June 1, the president will be presiding over the initiation of new Korean International Cooperation Agency (KoICA) program called the Korean Aid in the three countries.
She will be the first Korean President to visit the African Union headquarter in Addis Ababa and also expected to deliver a speech regarding Korea’s policy towards Africa.
Park assumed office in February 2013 becoming the eleventh president of the Korea. In 2013 and 2014, the president was named the World’s 11th most powerful woman and the most powerful woman in East Asia by Forbs Magazine’s list. Park was also named 46th most powerful person by the same magazine in 2014.
