Ethiopia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry reshuffles officials

(by Andegna) Foreign Affairs Ministry of Ethiopia reshuffled officials within departments. Sources have said that the Ministry sacked Spokesperson Tewolde Mulugeta and appointed Meles Alem. Meles has served as Director for Neighboring Countries and before joining the Ministry he also had worked as head of different media houses in the country.

European Affairs Director-General, Kassa Gebreyohannes has been replaced by Ambassador Tesfaye Yilma. Ambassador Tesfaye has served as Deputy Ambassador of Ethiopia in China.

The then Bahir Dar University President and former Ethiopia’s Ambassador in South Africa and Côte d'Ivoire, Dr. Yeshimeber Mebrat has also been appointed as Human Resource Directorate General of the Ministry. Lulit Zewdie has been appointed as in African Affairs Directorate- General replacing of Metasebia Tadesse.

Former Ethiopia’s Ambassador in Uganda Degife Bula appointed as Planning Director-General while Ambassador Lelalem Gebre-Yohannes from Ireland has been appointed as Purchasing Director-General. Ambassador Mohammud Drir also returned from Egypt and appointed as advisor to the Minister in Addis.      

IGAD Affairs Director, Berhan Fisseha was also appointed as Director for Neighboring Countries while former director of the department has been appointed Ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire.
